In May 2018, I finished a large beaded tapestry  based on the 1510 painting "Three Ages of the Woman and Death", by Hans Baldung Grien. By enlarging, expanding, and altering the original painting, I am exploring our relationships with art history, death, and idealized womanhood. By using beads, I am not only introducing a typically "craft" material into Renaissance painting, but I am also highlighting various absurdities in this classic allegorical trope.
